Long queues have formed outside the passport office in Battaramulla since early morning, with many arriving as early as 4:00 a.m. 

By mid-morning, over 1,900 individuals were still waiting for tokens to obtain passports.

Frustrated applicants reported that only one police officer was available to check documents, contributing to the extended waiting times.
