  • Hasaranga, Agha among big movers

Top performers from the ODI series in Pakistan and the ongoing T20I series in New Zealand have made significant gains in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Player Rankings update.

Sri Lanka’s star batter Pathum Nissanka has reached a career-best No. 3 in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, earning 779 rating points.

He now trails only Abhishek Sharma, who continues to lead the table, and England’s Phil Salt, who holds second place. Meanwhile, Kusal Perera has also made progress, rising two spots to No. 7.

Pakistan followed up their home success against South Africa with a narrow win over Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi, where Salman Ali Agha (105 not out) and Hussain Talat (62) played pivotal roles.

Agha’s match-winning knock propelled him 14 places up to No. 16 in the ODI Batting Rankings, with a career-best 639 rating points.

Saim Ayub, despite a quiet outing against Sri Lanka, gained 18 spots to joint 35th, thanks to back-to-back half-centuries in the South Africa series.

Haris Rauf, returning to international cricket after the Asia Cup final, impressed with a four-wicket haul against Sri Lanka and climbed three places to No. 28 in the ODI Bowling Rankings.

Abrar Ahmed, who didn’t feature against Sri Lanka, jumped 17 spots following his career-best 4/27 in the South Africa series decider.

South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, back in international action, scored fifties in all three ODIs against Pakistan and moved up four places to No. 15 in the batting rankings.

Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga delivered a standout performance in Rawalpindi, taking 3/54 and scoring a fighting 59 off 52 balls. He climbed 14 places to No. 116 in the ODI Batting Rankings, moved up one spot to No. 9 in the Bowling Rankings, and remains firmly in the top 10 of the ICC ODI All-Rounder Rankings.

New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy has been a standout in the T20I series against the West Indies, claiming six wickets in four games.

He jumped six places to reach No. 3 in the ICC T20I Bowling Rankings, just behind India’s Varun Chakaravarthy and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan.
