Laptop, DVRs stolen from IVS Indian visa centre

The Police stated yesterday (16) that investigations are underway into the incident of unidentified individuals stealing a laptop and two digital video recorders (DVRs) from the Indian visa application centre, IVS Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd. in Colombo. 

Speaking to The Daily Morning, Police Media Spokesman, Senior Superintendent of Police and Attorney, Nihal Thalduwa said: “A complaint was lodged with the Bambalapitiya Police that a laptop and two DVRs have been taken by unidentified individuals from the Indian visa application centre. Investigations are underway into it. We are yet to arrest any suspects connected to this incident.”

Meanwhile, the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, in a media release issued in this regard, said that due to a security incident reported on 14 February night, the visa application centre, IVS Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd. Colombo would remain closed until further notice. All applicants were therefore requested to reschedule their appointments with IVS Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd., accordingly.
