Hon. Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne of Parliament is on his maiden official visit to India to attend the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth in New Delhi.

On the sidelines of the conference, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla held bilateral discussions with the Sri Lankan Speaker.

The discussions focused on further strengthening parliamentary exchanges between Sri Lanka and India.
