City of Dreams Sri Lanka has appointed Chef Ye Panwang as Chef de Cuisine, strengthening its culinary leadership team as part of its expanding luxury dining portfolio.
Chef Panwang will lead the culinary direction of Spice 8, the resort’s signature Pan-Asian restaurant, focusing on authentic and contemporary Chinese cuisine for local and international guests.
A Chinese national from Bengbu City, Anhui Province, Chef Panwang brings over 20 years of international experience across luxury hospitality brands, including The Kingsbury Colombo, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, Narcissus Hotel and Resort, and properties in the Maldives, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
He most recently served as Chinese Chef de Cuisine at The Kingsbury Colombo before joining City of Dreams Sri Lanka in March 2026.
Chef Panwang is known for his expertise in Cantonese, Szechuan, Huaiyang, Beijing, Shanghai and Hunan cuisines, along with skills in food presentation, carving and culinary artistry.
At Spice 8, he is expected to introduce a refined dining experience that blends traditional techniques with modern presentation styles, aligned with City of Dreams Sri Lanka’s luxury hospitality positioning.
The appointment forms part of the resort’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its dining offerings by bringing internationally experienced culinary professionals into its operations.
