The Minister of Energy Anura Karunathilaka stated that a revision of fuel prices may be considered at the end of September due to the recent increase in global fuel prices.

Speaking in Galle today (20), he noted that the Government is currently considering whether the public can bear a further increase, as domestic fuel prices are already at a relatively high level.

The Government will take prevailing international fuel prices into account when reviewing domestic fuel prices at the end of the month.
