The Cabinet has approved the implementation of Sri Lanka’s National Green Hydrogen Policy to support the development of the country’s green hydrogen sector.

The policy aims to utilise Sri Lanka’s renewable energy resources, including its offshore wind potential, for the production of green hydrogen and to explore opportunities in global export markets.

The proposal, submitted by the Minister of Energy, also includes the preparation of a roadmap, regulatory framework and operational guidelines for the sector’s developmen
