The Police have uncovered a hidden cache of high-power explosives from Avissawella, following a confession made by underworld figure known as “Booru Muna” who was arrested after fleeing the Police custody recently.
The Police have found a total of 662 grams of C-4 type high-power explosive materials that had been hidden under a utility pole on the Dasawella Road in Hanwella, and the stash was recovered by the crimes division of the Western Province (South) Police.
Meanwhile, the crimes divisions of the Galle, Negombo, Rathgama, Elpitiya, Hikkaduwa, Katunayake, Uragaha and Negombo Police stations have also recorded statements from “Booru Muna” with regard to the criminal activities he was purportedly involved in. However, as per the reports, “Booru Muna” has only admitted to two out of the nine murder allegations leveled against him. Reports also claimed that “Booru Muna” had divulged to the Police that he was planning to blow up a businessman’s residence and restaurant along with his brother’s restaurant using these explosive materials.
