An adjournment motion regarding the current situation in Sri Lanka, to be brought forward by the Government, is scheduled for debate today (8) in Parliament. 

The debate will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Prior to the debate, Parliament will convene at 9:30 a.m., as decided at yesterday’s meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business chaired by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne. 

The day's schedule includes:  

- 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.: Business of Parliament, under Standing Order 22(1) to (6)  

- 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Questions for Oral Answers  

- 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.: Questions under Standing Order 27(2)
