Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya has held discussions with a delegation from UNICEF on ongoing efforts to support the recovery of Sri Lanka’s education sector following the impact of Cyclone Ditwah.
The meeting, held at Temple Trees on 12 June, reviewed progress under the Cyclone Ditwah Education Emergency Response Plan: Phase 1 Progress Updates (January–April 2026) and explored future interventions to assist affected schools and children.
Both sides also discussed strengthening cooperation to ensure the continuity of education and the well-being of students impacted by the disaster, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. UNICEF Representative Emma Brigham, Deputy Representative Begona Arellano and other officials were among those present.
