The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has reiterated that there are no intentions to move the Security Forces Headquarters from Jaffna. 

Defence Secretary, Retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyakontha, warned that legal action will be taken against anyone spreading false and unfounded information regarding this matter.

He emphasised that such fabricated claims cause unnecessary fear and unrest among the public, which is detrimental to national stability. 

The Defence Secretary also condemned efforts driven by political agendas to disseminate these misleading narratives, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to maintaining security and stability in Jaffna.
