Sri Lanka Police have instructed all police stations to implement a special security programme to safeguard embassies, high commissions and official residences.
The directive was issued by the Inspector General of Police amid the prevailing global situation.
Police noted that a 24-hour security plan will be in place to protect foreign nationals in Sri Lanka, along with their property and places of residence.
Security measures will also cover business establishments, tourist locations and religious centres, with support from the Tri-Forces if required.
