Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sharda, a Sukanya-class Offshore Patrol Vessel, is scheduled to visit Colombo from 10 to 13 June 2026 as part of an operational turnaround mission and to transport supplies from the Indian Army intended for Sri Lankan Army personnel serving in United Nations peacekeeping missions.

The supplies will be officially handed over during a ceremony at the Ministry of Defence on 16 June.

During the visit, INS Sharda’s Commanding Officer, Commander Kartik Sachdeva, will meet the Commander of the Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral S.J. Kumara. The ship’s crew will also take part in professional exchanges and friendly sporting activities with members of the Sri Lanka Navy.

In addition, ahead of the International Day of Yoga, a joint yoga programme involving the Indian and Sri Lankan naval personnel has been planned to promote the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga.
