Around 60% of Grade One students in schools across Nuwara Eliya have been found to suffer from tooth decay, MOH Dr. M.H.A.M. Irshan stated.

The findings were based on a clinical survey in Ambagamuwa, Maskeliya and Bogawantalawa areas.

Awareness programmes targeting children and parents have helped reduce poor oral health levels, he noted.
