A 45-year-old man has died after drowning while sea bathing in Moragalla in Aluthgama, police said.

The victim, a resident of Eheliyagoda, was bathing with friends when he was swept away by strong currents.

Police said the body was later recovered.

Further investigations are being conducted by Sri Lanka Police.
