The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers across most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. today (7), with heavy rainfall above 50 mm likely in several provinces. 

Morning showers are also expected in parts of the Western, Southern, and Northern regions. 

The public is advised to take precautions against lightning and strong winds.
