Sri Lanka will grant a free seven-day visa extension to passengers unable to depart due to Middle East–bound flight cancellations from 28 February.

The Department of Immigration and Emigration stated that affected travellers can remain legally in the country until departure arrangements are completed.

The extension will be valid for seven days from the date of expiry of the current visa.
