A train carrying Prima flour derailed near the Ja-Ela end of Ragama railway station today(2), according to the Railways Department.

The incident has caused significant disruption to train services on the Puttalam line. 

The Department confirmed that efforts are underway to clear the tracks and restore normal operations. 

Passengers travelling on the line have been advised to expect delays until services are fully reinstated.
