The Archbishop of Colombo, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, met with Pope Leo XIV, the newly elected leader of the Roman Catholic Church.

According to the Archdiocese of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, was also among those nominated to succeed the late Pope Francis.

He met with the new Pope following his participation in the Papal Conclave in the Vatican City to elect a new Pope.
