Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala informed Parliament today (20) that one of the two shooters involved in the killing of a lawyer and his wife at Akuregoda has been identified. 

Commenting on the ongoing investigation, Minister Wijepala stated that the vehicle used in the crime was found torched and destroyed in the Baddegama area. 

Another vehicle used to deliver firearms has been recovered in Kottawa.

Efforts are underway to locate the vehicle that transported the shooters to their lodging, and its owner has now been identified.

The shooter who fired at the victims with a revolver has been identified as Robert Suresh, a resident of Pansala Road, Meewala, Rukgahawila. Authorities are actively working to apprehend him.

Additionally, the owner of the vehicle used to transport the suspects has been identified as Wanniarchchige Sihina Dilsara, of ‘Rasika Niwasa,’ Old Colony, Athkandura, Galle. Investigations continue to locate him and the vehicle.
