Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has called for a Parliamentary debate on the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict and its potential effects on Sri Lanka.
Highlighting concerns over more than 10,000 Sri Lankans working in Israel and major tea exports to Iran, Premadasa warned of rising crude oil prices due to the conflict.
With the support of 20 MPs, a motion was submitted, and Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne allocated time for the debate from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. today (18).
