Three international flights bound for Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) were diverted this morning (19) due to dense fog that severely reduced visibility.

SriLankan Airlines flights UL-881 from Guangzhou and UL-266 from Riyadh were rerouted to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, while flight UL-254 from Dammam was diverted to Thiruvananthapuram Airport in India.

Airport officials stated that the fog cleared later.
