A Yellow Anaconda hatchling has gone missing from the Dehiwala National Zoological Gardens, zoo officials reported to the Dehiwala Police.
The hatchling, along with six other snakes of three species, had been illegally imported from Thailand on 12 September, 2024, and seized by Customs at Bandaranaike International Airport before being placed in quarantine at the zoo.
The missing snake, native to South America and the heaviest species of its kind, was scheduled for public exhibition after quarantine.
