The Department of Meteorology says several spells of showers are expected today(21) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, as well as the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Showers or thundershowers may also develop at several places in the Uva and Eastern provinces after 2.00 p.m., while fairly strong winds of 30–40 kmph are expected in parts of the island.

The public has been advised to take precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
