The Cabinet has approved implementing the ‘Diviyata Saviyak’ housing programme to provide financial assistance for low-income families.

Under the 2026 Budget, Rs. 2,000 million has been allocated to provide up to Rs. 2 million per beneficiary for housing needs.

Funds will cover purchasing land, building houses, buying houses, or renovating existing homes.

Eligible groups include youth leaving institutional care, vulnerable families with unsafe housing, and children in or transitioning from child care institutions.
