FitsAir will commence direct flights between Ahmedabad and Colombo from 19 June as part of efforts to strengthen tourism connectivity with India.

The airline will operate the route three times a week, reducing travel time between the two cities to around three hours.

Tourism industry representatives noted that India remains Sri Lanka’s largest tourist source market, with more than 531,000 Indian visitors recorded so far in 2025.

Officials also highlighted growing demand for corporate and MICE tourism between India and Sri Lanka.
