The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal by President and Finance Minister Anura Kumara Dissanayake to secure a $100 million loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Sustainable Tourism Sector Development Programme (STSDP).

The facility includes $70 million from ADB’s concessionary capital resources and $30 million from its regular capital resources.

Clearances have been granted by both the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and the Attorney General’s Department to proceed with the agreement, aimed at supporting long-term tourism development and sustainability initiatives across the country.
