This morning, a bus transporting Czech tourists collided with a train at an unsafe railway crossing in Waskaduwa (29).
According to Kalutara North Police, two tourists sustained minor injuries in the incident.
En route to Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), the bus collided with power set train No. 8304 travelling from Aluthgama to Chilaw.
The accident caused significant damage to the rear of the bus and the train.
The train driver has been hospitalised at Kalutara Teaching Hospital for minor eye injuries resulting from the collision.
