The Department of Wildlife Conservation has temporarily closed multiple national parks as severe rainfall continues across the country.

In Wasgamuwa National Park, the Wawulabe and Mahaweli bungalows have been shut down after being submerged by floodwaters.

Access to Horton Plains National Park has also been suspended, with both the Ohiya and Pattipola routes blocked due to weather-related obstructions. 

Authorities advise the public to avoid travel to affected areas until conditions improve.
