Train services between Kurunegala and Maho on the Northern Railway Line have been temporarily suspended after the railway track was inundated by overflowing water from Deduru Oya.
The Department of Railways stated that trains from Colombo will operate only up to Kurunegala, while services from Jaffna will run only up to Maho.
Meanwhile, the Department of Irrigation confirmed that four spill gates of the Deduru Oya Reservoir had been opened by one foot each following rainfall on 2 November.
