The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has declared a 48-hour nationwide token strike beginning at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, (23). 

The union claims the strike is in response to the Health Ministry’s failure to implement previously agreed-upon measures to address medical officers’ concerns and protect free healthcare services. 

The GMOA has assured that maternity, children’s, kidney, and cancer hospitals will remain operational during the strike. 

The move highlights ongoing tensions between medical professionals and authorities over healthcare reforms and working conditions.
