The Department of Meteorology warns that heat indices are expected to reach "Caution level" in parts of Northern, North-central, North-western, Sabaragamuwa provinces, and several districts, including Colombo and Gampaha.

The public is advised to stay hydrated, take breaks, and check on vulnerable individuals, especially the elderly and sick.

Outdoor activities should be limited, and children should never be left unattended in vehicles. Lightweight, light-colored clothing is recommended.
