PTF appointed to rebuild SL

A Gazette notification has been issued by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, establishing a Rebuilding Sri Lanka Presidential Task Force (PTF). The 25-member TF has been formed to provide strategic leadership, coordination, a unified approach towards and oversight of all post–disaster rehabilitation, recovery and reconstruction-related matters following Cyclone Ditwah. Prime Minister and Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has been appointed as the Chairperson of the PTF while G.M.R.D. Aponsu is named as the Convener/Secretary. The other members are: the Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister, Vijitha Herath, the Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister, A.H.M.H. Abayarathna, the Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation Minister, K.D. Lal Kantha, the Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment Minister, Upali Pannilage, the Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Minister, Sunil Handunneththi, the Transport, Highways and Urban Development Minister, Bimal Rathnayake, the Health and Mass Media Minister, Dr. Nalin Jayatissa, the Labour Minister and Deputy Finance and Planning Minister, Prof. Anil Jayantha Fernando, the Environment Minister, Patabendige Dammika, the Housing, Construction and Water Supply Minister, Susil Ranasinghe, the Western Province Governor, Hanif Yusuf, the Deputy Defence Minister, Aruna Jayasekera, the President’s Secretary, Dr. N.S. Kumanayake, the Finance, Planning and Economic Development Ministry Secretary, Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, the Defence Ministry Secretary, H.S.S. Thuyacontha, the Commissioner General of Essential Services and the Plantations and Community Infrastructure Ministry Secretary, B.K. Prabath Chandrakeerthi, the Senior Advisor to the President, Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, the Director General of Government Information, H.S.K.J. Bandara, Rohana Hettiarachchi, Malarmathi Gangadaran, President’s Counsel Upul Kumarapperuma, Samantha de Silva, Mandana Ismail, and Parakrama Dissanayake.
