The Department of Meteorology has issued an amber advisory for high waves and strong winds affecting several sea areas around Sri Lanka until 4.30 p.m. tomorrow (27).

Sea areas from Kalpitiya to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota are expected to experience rough conditions with gusty winds reaching up to 60 kmph.

The Met. Department also warned of swell waves between 2 and 3 metres and urged naval and fishing communities to remain vigilant.
