The second reading debate on the Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bill will be taken up today.

Deputy Minister Nishantha Jayaweera stated the Bill aims to simplify the tax system.

SJB MP Ajith P. Perera alleged the amendments include provisions for criminal action over delayed tax payments.

An adjournment debate on the Central Bank’s 2025 Economic Review Report is scheduled for May 20.

Regulations under the Import and Export Control Act will be debated on May 21, while condolence motions are set for May 22.
