The opening match of the Lanka Premier League 2026 will be played between the Jaffna and Galle teams on 17 July at the SSC Grounds in Colombo.

Sri Lanka Cricket noted that the match will begin at 7.30 p.m., followed by an opening ceremony at the venue.

The tournament will run from 17 July to 8 August across venues in Colombo, Dambulla and Pallekele.

Jaffna and Galle qualified for the opening game after finishing as champions and runners-up respectively in the 2024 season.
