The Government intends to hold the Provincial Council elections as soon as possible, Cabinet Spokesman Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa stated today (25).

He stated that the elections can be held if Parliament passes the required legislation and completes the delimitation process within 2026.

Minister Jayatissa noted that funds have already been allocated for the elections, stressing that the necessary legal framework must be enacted before an election can be conducted.
