The Department of Meteorology has forecast several spells of showers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (29).

Showers or thundershowers may occur in parts of the Uva Province and the Batticaloa, Ampara and Hambantota districts after 1 p.m.

The public has been advised to take precautions against lightning and temporary localised strong winds during thundershowers.
