Former Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake had reportedly published a video that allegedly showed an incident involving Sinhala Ravaya monk Ven. Magalkanda Sudantha Thera. Ramanayake had accused the monk of sexually abusing a youth.

In the video, a young man is seen being forced to come out of a room of the monk at a temple in Japan by a woman and at least two other men.

The Sri Lankan woman is heard saying that she had lodged a complaint with the Police and demands an explanation from the youth.

The woman is heard accusing the monk of allegedly asking the youth to remove his shorts.

Another man is later heard verbally abusing the monk, saying the youth is his sister’s son.

In the video, the monk hardly responds to the questions raised by those present.

In a social media post, Ramanayake had stated that the monk who had sent him to prison was facing the accusation.
