President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed all ministries to implement practical, data-driven fuel conservation plans.

He further directed that a report on these plans be submitted promptly at the ministerial level.

The instructions were issued during a meeting today (17) with the committee overseeing essential goods distribution, focusing on maintaining supply chains, fair pricing, and uninterrupted services in health, agriculture, tourism, transport, and industry.

Officials noted that coordinated plans are being developed with the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to manage fuel allocation for essential services, ports, airports, agriculture, and industrial sectors.

The President also emphasised maintaining updated fuel data and ensuring continuous intervention to sustain the economy and public life amid the current energy situation.
