French Ambassador to Sri Lanka Rémi Lambert met Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd.) today (17) to discuss strengthening defence cooperation and bilateral relations.

The discussions also focused on capacity building and the Regional Center for Maritime Studies at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.

Senior French defence officials, including representatives attached to the Regional Center for Maritime Studies, also attended the meeting.
