Several houses in low-lying areas of Nawalapitiya have been inundated following heavy rainfall and rising water levels in the Mahaweli River today (20).

Nearly 100 families have reportedly been displaced by the flooding in the Pasbage Korale Divisional Secretariat Division.

Kithulkote, Labuwelkotuwa and Jayasundara Ovita are among the areas affected by the rising water levels.
