Three women who were trapped at the Malwathu Oya Railway Bridge in Anuradhapura were safely rescued during an air operation.

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) used a Bell 412 helicopter from its No. 4 Squadron to airlift the women to safety.

Following the rescue, the individuals were transported to the Anuradhapura SLAF Base for further assistance. 

The operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the security forces to aid residents affected by the adverse weather conditions and rising floodwaters across the island.
