ICC Women’s WC Trophy unveiled

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour reached Sri Lanka on Monday (22), with the coveted trophy unveiled to the press, at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS), Colombo.

The venue will host 11 league stage matches during the tournament, which will commence on next Tuesday (30) and the first match, Bangladesh versus Pakistan will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium on 2 October.

At the forthcoming event five World Cup matches are scheduled to be played at R. Premadasa International Stadium.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka Men’s Test Captain Dhananjaya De Silva, former men’s skipper Dinesh Chandimal, national fast-bowler Vishwa Fernando and women’s team stars Harshitha Samarawickrama and Nilakshika De Silva were also in attendance at the World Cup Trophy unveiling.

The Trophy Tour’s Sri Lanka segment is scheduled to run until Thursday (25) with several activities planned.

24 Sept.: The trophy will be placed on public display at the Lotus Tower, Colombo, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with players from both the national men’s and women’s teams joining the event

25 Sept.: The trophy will be displayed at a girls’ school in Colombo, giving School children the chance to be part of the World Cup experience
