The World Health Organization handed over CBRN equipment and PPE worth Rs. 13.8 million (USD 44,800) to the Ministry of Health.

The equipment was received by Additional Secretary Medical Services Dr. Kumara Wickremasinghe, Director General of Health Services Asela Gunawardena and National Coordinator of the Disaster Preparedness and Response Division Dr. Samiddhi Samarakoon.

The contribution supports commitments under the National Action Plan for Health Security (NAPHS) 2024–2028.

The Ministry noted that the equipment will be prepositioned in six tertiary hospitals in high-risk areas to strengthen preparedness for chemical emergencies.
