India and Sri Lanka held the 11th Army-to-Army Staff Talks (AAST) in Bodhgaya from 18 to 20 November, led by Major General Ravi Pathiravithana for Sri Lanka. 

The discussions aimed to strengthen bilateral defence ties, boost interoperability, and deepen the broader partnership for regional peace.

The two armies are also currently participating in the 11th edition of Exercise 'Mitra Shakti' in Belagavi, Karnataka, which runs until 23 November. 

The joint exercise, including air force personnel, focuses on rehearsing Sub-Conventional Operations under a United Nations mandate and sharing best practices in counter-terrorist operations.
