SSP S. Muthumala, former Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), has been transferred to head the Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women, effective immediately. 

SSP Shani Abeysekera replaced her as CID Director. 

The transfers, among five senior police officers, were approved by the National Police Commission, according to Sri Lanka Police.
