A government task force chaired by Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya reviewed recovery work following the impact of Cyclone Ditwah.
The government announced that 125 technical officers have been recruited to support reconstruction and assessment work from next week.
Discussions focused on compensation payments, housing assistance, and the restoration of roads, bridges, railways and schools in affected areas.
The government also said China and India have agreed to assist with highway and bridge rehabilitation projects.
