The National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) announced that the final test report on Beira lake’s water contamination, linked to recent animal deaths, will be released today (31).

According to the Head of its Environmental Studies Division, Shyamali Weerasekara, stated that a significant increase in ammonia concentration was detected in the water.

Colombo’s Chief Veterinary Officer, Mohamed Ijas, also revealed that tests on dead bird samples have begun, with results expected in two weeks.
