A squad of 17 Sri Lankan artistic swimmers is set to take part in the 17th Singapore Open Artistic Swimming Championships 2023 at the OCBC Aquatic Centre. The event will take place from 14 to 17 December.
This international tournament is significant as it marks the first competition for Sri Lankan artistic swimmers since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The team, comprising many new swimmers, will be exposed to much-needed international exposure with this tour.
Leading the team is Head Coach Dehara Katipearachchi, with Akhry Ameer serving as the Team Manager and Judge. Gihara Amarasinghe will be the Lady Chaperone and Imashi Gamage will officiate as a Judge during the competition.
The Sri Lankan team will participate in four groups/age categories:
Group C: 12 & Under
- Khiara Goonetilleke – Solo
- Amara Watson Kittle, Ladies’ College – Solo
- Aheli Joseph, Ladies’ College – Solo
Group B – Youth: 13-15 years
- Venuki Wijesena, Aurora Synchro Club (studying overseas) – Solo
- Satvi Arjuna, Aurora Synchro Club (Colombo International School) – Solo & Duet
- Sanuki Suraweera, Aurora Synchro Club (Elizabeth Moir) – Solo & Duet

Group A – Junior: 15-19 years
